Why Poco has a Name, But the Girl Doesn't

People often ask if the girl in my illustrations has a name.

I thought about giving her one, but somehow it never felt right.

To me, she could be anyone. Me on some days, you on others. Leaving her unnamed makes it easier for anyone to step into her world.

Poco is a little different.

I’m not even sure what Poco is and I like it that way.

Maybe Poco is your inner child. Maybe it’s a feeling, a passing thought, a quiet mood, or simply a companion that reminds you to slow down through everyday life. Some days Poco is playful, some days it’s comforting, and sometimes it simply sits beside you without saying anything at all.
